At the 2007 Big Buzz Entertainment Awards
 Gerard received his award at the ceremony in Belfast on Thursday, June 14th at the prestigous Whitla Hall. Also nominated in this category were James Nesbitt and Ardol O'Hanlon. This follows on from his nomination in the Best Newcomer category at this years British Soap Awards. Gerard is currently taking a summer break from his regular role as Kris Fisher in Hollyoaks.
